Am I Sharing Jesus Regularly?
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek." – Romans 1:16
Commentary
In John 6, we see a time when many people turned away from following Jesus. Jesus turned to His twelve disciples and asked if they too would turn back. Simon Peter replied, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life" (v.68). Consider for a moment that we've been given these words of life to share with others - words of eternal life. What grace and mercy it is to have heard this message of rescue and love! And we have the incredible privilege to take this message to others!
As we come to appreciate the magnitude of this message of salvation in our own lives, we will undoubtedly grow in our desire to share this message with the people we encounter each day. When we daily see how God is working in our world, we are driven to let others in on the Good News. We dwell in a world surrounded by people who desire to discover the hope we have in Christ. If we view sharing this Good News as an intrusion or an inconvenience in our daily schedule, we'll hesitate to share. However, when we see we have words of life to speak to those who are spiritually dead, we will not keep silent.
Application
• Sometimes we are hesitant to share because we are not confident about what to say. Consider finding resources such as the Three Circles app to help you grow in confidence.
• Take some time to consider those around you who need to hear the message of hope found in the Gospel. It's probably more than you think. Make a list of those people and pray that God would open the doors for sharing your faith with them.
Prayer Points
• Pray that God would ignite in you a passion for taking the Gospel to the lost.
• Ask God to show you the people in your life who need to hear about Jesus.
• Pray that in all that you do, your relationship with Christ would be so evident that people are curious about the hope that lives in you through your relationship with Jesus.
